3 freckled sisters with an obsession with food
1 year apart and all kissed by the sun (we’re freckled, duh!), the name “Sunkissed” came naturally to the 3 of us as we began ideating how we could bring our love for baked goods to life! We’ve been food-obsessed since birth, and it’s thanks to our mom owning a Chinese Vietnamese restaurant located in Little Saigon, California, which has no shortage of delicious food.
Food crawls are a common activity that unites the 3 of us for as long as we can remember. It was in Winter 2023 on a bakery crawl in Taipei that “the Sunkissed idea” was born. After trekking across 6 bakeries, we were amazed by all the baked goods integrating unique Taiwanese flavors into artisan breads & cakes, and thought, why can’t we do that at home?
Amber’s home baker intuition + Christine’s tech expertise + Ivy’s “let’s freaking do it” attitude made for the perfect trifecta needed to build Sunkissed from the ground up.
And since 2024, we’ve been selling our selection of artisan baked goods inspired by our Asian heritage via pop-ups, catering for weddings and corporate events, and at local cafes around Long Beach.

As Garden Grove girlies with a Taiwanese dad and Cantonese mama from Vietnam, our menu is a reflection of the intersection of the many different cultures we grew up with. After all, we desire to share flavors we love from our family to yours!
Whether you’re taking a bite of our Green Onion Pancake Cloud Bread or munching on our Salt Bread, every piece of the menu captures a part of our history. Our Green Onion Pancake Cloud Bread takes us back to the summers when our family would skip from one night market to the next, crowding around my dad’s favorite stalls along the streets of Taipei. The Salt Bread, which is a fan-favorite, is especially loved by our mom as she requests a fresh batch to be brought home to her every Sunday to enjoy together during our weekly family dinner.
Our favorite part about our bakery shenanigans is meeting and surprising folks with flavors they’ve never come across before. And boy, we can’t wait to continue innovating to bring you our newest twists to familiar baked goods you know and love! Stay tuned, friends!
